ALFRED, NY – The Bryant & Stratton College Rochester Bobcats (0-4) opened their 2-game weekend with a 90-70 loss to the Alfred University Saxons (2-0). The game was played at Alfred State College as part of the Alfred Tournament.
Rochester jumped up to an early 8-4 lead in the first five minutes of the game but Alfred was able to quickly tie it up. Both teams traded points back and forth until a 12-0 run gave the Saxons some breathing room. The Saxons continued to shoot well coming out of the locker room, going on a 12-2 run to begin the first. Alfred's Dom LeMorta was a big contributor, shooting 7-13 with 16 points. The Bobcats ended up shooting 41% from the field but were unable to cut the deficit before the final buzzer.
Up next: Rochester will return to Alfred Saturday, this time to face the 1-2 Alfred State Pioneers. They won't have to travel long for the neutral site game, heading just across the street to the Alfred University campus.
