Bryant & Stratton College Rochester athletics program has announced that Troy Jackson has been hired as the second head coach in men’s basketball program history.
Jackson comes to Bryant & Stratton after coaching the Cape Breton Highlanders of the NBLC. He helped lead Cape Breton to the NBLC conference finals after missing the playoffs the previous three seasons.
He is the founder of Man on a Mission Basketball, a program designed to develop athletic skills while emphasizing the importance of academic excellence, character and sportsmanship. Jackson has also served as the head coach of the University Preparatory freshman team, leading the charter school’s club to a 17-1 record in their inaugural season.
A University of Maryland-Eastern Shore and Alcorn State alum, Jackson led Alcorn State in minutes and points per game during his two seasons with the Braves. As a junior he led the Braves in steals, assists and rebounds. Jackson would go on to feature for the Rochester Razorsharks, winning three-straight Preimer Basketball League championships with the local club. His professional career includes stints throughout Europe prior to his time with the Razorsharks.
Jackson also served as a player representative with the Razorsharks and Bryant & Stratton as part of the Don’t Foul Out program the team and the college created.
