Hewett Hat Trick, Hutchinson Heroics Power Bobcats Past Bloomfield, 5–1
BLOOMFIELD, NJ – A first-half offensive explosion led by Toby Hewett's hat trick propelled the Bryant & Stratton College Rochester men's soccer team to a commanding 5–1 road win over Bloomfield College on Monday afternoon at Foley Field. That makes two wins in a row for Rochester and five of it's last six, outscoring opponents 27-6 in that span.
The Bobcats wasted no time asserting themselves, scoring in just the 4th minute and racking up four first-half goals to stun the hosts. With the win, Bryant & Stratton Rochester improves to 7-4-3, and 6-2-2 in NACIA play.
First-Half Fireworks: Hewett Shines Bright
Hewett delivered one of the most dominant individual performances of the season. The sophomore forward netted three goals in the opening 44 minutes, marking his second hat trick of the year and pushing his season tally to six.
-
Hewett opened the scoring in the 4th minute off a slick assist from James Mather.
-
He doubled his tally in the 34th minute thanks to a through ball from Tomas Dinis.
-
He completed the hat trick just before halftime (44'), finishing a well-timed feed from Yassine Kone to make it 4–0.
In between, Joshua Murphy scored his first goal of the season in the 40th minute, capitalizing on a smart setup by Cameron Moag.
Second-Half Control and Closing
Bloomfield pulled one back in the 64th minute on an unassisted goal by Daniel Tabares, but the Bobcats closed the door late as Deri Hutchinson capped the scoring with a composed solo goal in the 86th minute — his first of the year.
Rochester controlled the tempo throughout, outshooting Bloomfield 18–5 and putting 11 shots on target. The midfield, led by Mather, Hutchinson, and Bowden, dictated play while the defense stayed organized and composed.
Strong Team Effort Across the Pitch
-
Jonathan Chezes, Joseph Bowden, and Callum Judge each recorded multiple shots, helping apply pressure from midfield.
-
Goalkeepers Louka Carion-Janes and Vincent Mueller split time in net, with Carion-Janes making one save in the first half.

The defense, led by Ross Green, Neil Doran, and Joshua Jarvis, limited Bloomfield to just two shots on goal and held them without a corner kick in the first half.
Bryant & Stratton Rochester returns to action on Friday, October 24th when they host Berkeley at 7 pm in a pivotal conference matchup, as the Bobcats continue their push toward postseason play.
